The University of Wisconsin-Madison Libraries are excited to announce that we are actively accepting applications for our new Teaching and Learning Diversity Resident Librarian position!

This position is a part of our diversity resident librarian program, which provides an opportunity for entry-level librarians from diverse backgrounds to begin their professional careers and develop skills and experience in academic librarianship. As members of the ACRL Diversity Alliance, we are committed to “increasing the hiring pipeline of qualified and talented individuals from underrepresented racial and ethnic groups.” (ACRL Diversity Alliance Website). This is a three-year placement designed to encourage and promote professional growth and development of recent graduates. This position will become permanent at the end of the three year residency.

This residency will offer opportunities to support student research and learning and contribute significantly to the Libraries’ instructional services. The position will provide instruction with a focus on foundational research skills, primarily for undergraduate general education courses. The librarian will identify and develop assessment and instruction strategies to measure meaningful impact and expand the instruction program’s reach and success. This position will collaborate with staff in the Libraries’ Teaching & Learning Programs office and with library instruction staff to create policies, procedures, and documentation in support of the instruction program.
