We are seeking an innovative, versatile, and service-oriented information professional and self-starter to join our team.  
 

The primary duty of the Archives Technical Services Specialist is to support knowledge production and integration by optimizing the use of technology and technical services for learning, researching, decision making, and problem solving on a wide range of government subjects and policy matters. Multidisciplinary in nature and requiring strong technical expertise and analytical skills, responsibilities include the delivery, expansion and integration of knowledge-based systems and services to enhance the acquisition, management, discovery, access, and preservation of, and knowledge about, Vermont public records and information.

Preferred Qualifications

•    Considerable knowledge of common programming languages (e.g. Java, HTML/CSS, SQL, etc.) and open-source content management systems, such as Drupal and WordPress 
•    Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications, including Power Platform  
•    Exceptional verbal and written communication skills as well as negotiation and conflict management abilities. 
•    Experience in leading or supervising projects with small, multi-functional teams  
•    Familiarity with knowledge management and collaboration technologies 
•    Familiarity with information and data architecture, ontologies, and taxonomies. 
•    Aptitude to learn and apply digital preservation standards and best practices, e.g. ISO 14721 (Open Archival Information System), and related applications, tools, and workflows 
•    Aptitude to serve as systems administrator and/or technical services lead where needed
