Responsibilities:

  • The Science and Electronic Resources Librarian is primarily responsible for negotiating and managing access to the library’s electronic resources, databases and e-journal subscriptions.
  • The position is an important part of the Collections and Discovery team, which is working to promote Open, Equitable Access to scholarship and reshaping the collections to include and provide access to more diverse voices and Open knowledge.
  • The Science and E-Resources Librarian also acts as liaison to STEM departments and participates in research instruction and individualized research appointments as needed.

Qualifications:

  • ALA accredited Master’s degree in Library/Information Studies.
  • 2 – 3 years of relevant experience in an academic library.
  • Strong knowledge of electronic resources licensing and Open Access publishing trends.
  • Knowledge or background in one or more science fields.
  • Collaborative approach, negotiation skills, and good self-organization habits.
  • Must have a strong commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility.
