Archives and Records Management Assistant, Harvard Business School, Boston, MA

Come join the Archives and Records Management team at Harvard Business School to assist
with various projects supporting archives and records management activities. Under the
supervision of the HBS Archivist, primary duties to include preparing records management
accessions for offsite storage; re-boxing, barcoding and labeling records management storage
cartons in poor physical condition; and helping evaluate and transfer legacy faculty book
donations.

The collections of Baker Library Special Collections focus on the development of business and
industry. Spanning eight centuries, the collections begin in the late 1300s to the present day
and include account ledgers, rare books, broadsides, corporate archives, photographs, films,
electronic records, and company annual reports. The extensive holdings of the Harvard
Business School Archives include the records of the School from its founding in 1908 to the
present day. These rich and varied collections support research in a remarkably diverse range of
fields such as business, economic, social and cultural history as well as the history of science
and technology. 

Schedule: 14 hours per week. Flexible, but must be Monday through Friday between 9am and
5pm. Work must be done onsite.

Salary: $18.00/hour

Qualifications:

  • Experience with confidential and/or restricted materials; ability to identify and work
  • with restricted materials with discretion.
  • Detail-oriented, able to work independently and as part of a team, collaborative,
  • and flexible.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Must be able to regularly lift 40 lbs.
