Director, Marlborough Public Library, Marlborough, MA

The City of Marlborough and the Board of Library Trustees seek a dynamic, visionary leader with strong
management skills to serve as the next Director of the Marlborough Public Library.
The Director, who reports to a 9-member appointed Board of Trustees, is responsible for the management and administration of the Marlborough Public Library, including all library services, personnel, policies, outreach, and programming.

The Library is undergoing a $26M renovation/ addition project due to be completed in the spring of 2023. The next Director will step into the project as the final work is being completed and have the unique opportunity to create a vibrant, welcoming community center for residents.

Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from an American Library Association
accredited program is required. Minimum of five (5) years of administrative experience in a public library with three (3) years in a Director’s position or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the work required. Experience must include knowledge of current and emerging technologies, collection development, personnel management, preparation and oversight of a library budget, community involvement, facilities management, and strong communications skills.
