Database Technician (copy cataloging), Old Colony Library Network, Braintree, MA

Description:

Old Colony Library Network is seeking a permanent part-time database technician for copy cataloging using the SirsiDynix Symphony ILS and OCLC Connexion. Primary activity will be matching and overlaying brief bibliographic records with full MARC OCLC records.

Part-time, 19 hours/wk position

Flexible schedule, hours negotiable.

This position works under the direct supervision of the Database Manager.

This position is intended as a full remote / work from home opportunity, however, occasional travel to member libraries and our co-working location, in Braintree MA, may be required.

Internet access is required for remote work and all remote work must be done in Massachusetts.

Qualifications

Ideal candidate will have:

Experience using SirsiDynix Symphony and OCLC Connexion
Familiarity with centralized cataloging practices
Skill at detail oriented work
Experience working independently in a highly automated environment
