Brandeis University seeks to hire a Makerspace Technology Specialist who will provide support for hardware and software technologies in Makerspace environments. Acts as a technical resource for students, faculty and researchers, translating between teaching, learning, and research needs and technology solutions in collaboration with faculty, students, departmental technology staff, and Library staff.

In addition to supporting emerging technology in teaching, learning, and research across campus, the candidate will be responsible for the day to day operations, scheduling, logistics, access, status, and budget status of the Brandeis MakerLab and its coordination with other innovation spaces in the Brandeis Library. This role provides some first tier and second tier technical support for faculty, staff, and students who use the Makerspace. Provides high level project management for all active MakerLab projects. Collaborates closely with student clubs and local researchers to build community and overcome their technological hurdles. This will include learning and developing expertise in any specialized hardware and software tools not otherwise supported on campus and helping provide strategic vision for support of emerging and research technologies across the disciplines.

The hiring range for this position is $67,700 – $76,000.

This is a union position. Employees working in this position are covered by the collective bargaining agreement between the University and Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 888.  Provisions related to wages, benefits and other terms of employment are contained in the agreement
