User Engagement and Success Librarian, University of New Hampshire, Durham, NH

The University of New Hampshire (UNH) Library is seeking a collaborative and creative librarian to join the library faculty as the User Engagement and Student Success Librarian.  

This new position will play a leadership role in cultivating library services that contribute to the success of our students and of the library. With the UNH Library’s recent reorganization into a team-based structure, the person in this role will have opportunities to participate in multiple teams and the potential to lead programs within this structure. 

With a focus on student success, equity, and inclusion initiatives that align with the UNH Library’s mission and vision and UNH’s strategic priorities, the ideal candidate will lead efforts and initiatives to engage students in a way that centers on student needs and cultivates a sense of belonging in the library, understanding that UNH’s commitment to student success goes beyond the classroom to support student success broadly as informed citizens, community leaders, and professionals. 

As a position that is highly engaged with student groups and campus partners, the User Engagement and Student Success Librarian should recognize and value the many ways that inclusion, diversity, and equity are essential components of our library and university values and be prepared to use this understanding to inform their professional practices within and beyond the UNH Library.

The position is a 12-month, tenure-track faculty position with appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, depending on qualifications. This position reports to the Dean of the University Library through the Library Faculty Chair and will be a member of relevant library programs. The incumbent is expected to conduct scholarship; actively participate in library, university, and professional engagement or service; and meet other UNH Library criteria for promotion and tenure including holding or obtaining a second advanced degree in a chosen field. Faculty members at UNH are represented by the AAUP through a collective bargaining agreement.
