We support the teaching and scholarly mission of the University through collaborative partnerships with the community of students, scholars, and professionals at Harvard and beyond.

This full-time position reports to the Access Services Librarian for Library & Knowledge Services, Harvard Kennedy School (HKS) and Gutman Library, Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE). This position reports up through Harvard Library and is primarily based in HKS Library & Knowledge Services. The person in this position will also be expected to support the Gutman Library in the evenings, when the need arises, and collaborate with the Gutman Library Collections Management & Access team on reserves processes and fulfillment for HGSE. This position will also support workflows for delivery of user-requested library materials for pickup in the Science and Engineering Complex (SEC) remote book locker system.

Under general guidance, and in support of the missions of HKS Library & Knowledge Services, Gutman Library, and Harvard Library, this position performs a combination of complex duties to facilitate library users’ access to library collections, space, and services while maintaining an earnest commitment to excellent customer service. Work is performed with a high degree of judgment and latitude and requires substantial knowledge of library organization systems and procedures.

Assigned hours for the role are Sunday through Thursday, 12PM – 8PM. The regular schedule for this position may include work on holidays, inclement weather, and official University closings. Assigned hours may change throughout the year based on the Academic Calendar or departmental needs at the beginning of the semester, during the library’s intersession hours, and during summer hours. Approval for requests for time off during these periods is at the discretion of the supervisor based on business need.
