Reference Librarian, Yale Center for British Art, New Haven, CT

The Yale Center for British Art seeks an art museum librarian to assist in the operation of the Center’s Reference Library and Photo Archives. Reporting to the Chief Librarian of the Reference Library, the Librarian assists in the day-to-day activities of the library including reference services, bibliographic instruction and orientations to a diverse clientele consisting of Yale students and faculty, YCBA staff, visiting researchers, docents, student guides, and the general public. The Librarian is responsible for reference services and instruction as well as managing Scan and Deliver functions during the weekend hours of the library. The Librarian also serves as on-site manager (as needed) to Study Room staff during Library and Study Room weekend hours. The Librarian assists in the planning and implementation of public and technical service policies and activities and participates in the long-range strategic planning of the YCBA Library. The Librarian will employ creative strategies along with deep collection knowledge to advance the mission of the Reference Library. The Librarian models the highest standards of customer service and fosters communication and collaboration between YCBA departments and other units of the Yale Library.
