Library Assistant (Full-time), Foley Hoag LLP, Boston, MA

Description:

Foley Hoag LLP is seeking a LIBRARY ASSISTANT in its beautiful Boston office (Seaport District).  The individual will maintain the physical collection with filing, shelving and maintenance; handle mail log in and routing; and other duties as requested.

Responsibilities

·         Process and route all incoming mail, books, and periodicals, including serials check-in and routing of print and electronic materials, bar-coding, labeling and shelving print materials

·         Maintain database of current Inter-library loans, coordinate borrowing and timely return of ILL materials

·         File loose-leaf updates, pocket parts and supplements

·         Communicate with vendors to coordinate orders, shipments, claims, and invoices

·         Create and maintain all routing and distribution lists for both print and electronic resources

·         Maintain current contracts, vendor contacts and lists of licensed users in Research Monitors

·         Catalog print and electronic resources using current standards

·         Enter vendor invoices into Chrome River for timely payment

·         Process vendor billing data for client bill-back, reconcile credit card statements for payment

·         Assist with catalog maintenance, including weeding, updating and editing catalog records

·         Accurately copy, PDF and email materials as requested

·         Process book and periodical circulation

·         Shelving, shifting, shelf reading and other collection maintenance

·         Deliver and pick up materials upon request

·         Assists library staff and patrons

·         Perform other duties as assigned 

Requirements

·         A Bachelor’s Degree is required. An MLIS degree in progress is preferred

·         Experience in a law library environment is preferred

·         Proven ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

·         Excellent oral and written communication skills

·         Knowledge of Word, Excel, and the ability to learn computer software applications as needed

·         Client-focused service orientation
