Berklee is seeking an innovative, collaborative, and visionary leader to serve as its next Dean of Library & Learning Resources. This individual will head up a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team dedicated to enabling Berklee students to achieve their artistic potential and equip them with the information and digital literacy skills needed to forge successful careers in today’s knowledge-driven, global society.

The Library is recognized as a center of innovation and collaboration on campus and is regarded by both students and faculty as being a vital center of the campus. The department consists of the Stan Getz Library, Albert Alphin Library, Creative Technology Center, Immersive Technology Lab, and the Berklee Archives. The Dean also serves as an advisor to the Library at Berklee’s campus in Valencia, Spain.


As the chief administrator for the library and learning resources areas, the Dean is responsible for articulating a strategic vision for the area and leading the areas in supporting the teaching and learning needs of the various programs and departments. The new Dean will be a change agent, tasked with continuing the considerable momentum for innovation and adaptability that has been the hallmark of the library in recent years. The Dean serves as advocate for the library and learning resources within the college and larger community. The ability to build strong partnerships across campus will be critical to success.

Reporting to the Vice President for Academic Affairs/Vice Provost, the Dean is part of the Academic Affairs senior leadership and oversees a staff of 25. The Dean is a member of the President’s Council (college’s senior leadership) and Academic Leadership Council (Academic Affairs leadership).
