ProPublica Conference Stipend Program

Applications are now open for ProPublica’s 7th annual conference stipend program (formerly the Diversity Scholarship)!
This year, with support from The Pudding, they are providing 25, need-based, $750 stipends for students to attend a journalism conference and to contribute toward journalism related expenses (in cases where conferences may be virtual).
All current students (undergraduate and graduate) are welcome to apply. They especially encourage students from underrepresented groups in journalism — including people of color, women, LGBTQ+ people and people with disabilities — with interests in investigative and data journalism to apply. Here’s a list of last year’s recipients. They had the chance to attend conferences including NABJ, NAHJ, AAJA, ONA and IRE. This experience helped some get internships and even led to first, full-time jobs!
