This position offers the opportunity to advance faculty and student research at Maine’s largest library.

This Science Reference Librarian position will serve as the liaison librarian to the biological sciences, marine science, and earth and climate sciences, as well as some other disciplines.  As a member of the Reference & Information Literacy Department, they will also be part of a team providing in-person and online general reference service, as well as information literacy instruction, both credit-bearing and course-specific. The position also allows opportunities to participate in campus and state-wide committees.

The successful candidate will have experience with reference service, evidence of information literacy instruction experience, experience creating web guides and/or tutorials, a clear understanding of the information needs of the members of a university community, and the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.  Subject experience with natural science research, and collection development experience, are preferred.
