The University of Texas Libraries continues its commitment to support and bolster interdisciplinary research and teaching on East Asia and seeks a motivated individual to serve as the new East Asian Studies Liaison Librarian. An entry level position, the East Asian Studies Liaison will be responsible for all aspects of research, learning, and engagement lifecycles associated with the multidisciplinary and multicultural fields of inquiry related to East Asia (China, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong & Taiwan, and related diasporic communities). The East Asian Studies Liaison will directly support many departments, centers, and programs at the University of Texas including the Department of Asian Studies and the Center for East Asian Studies. The East Asian Studies Liaison position reports to the Arts, Humanities, and Global Studies Engagement Team Lead; as an active member of that team, the East Asian Studies Liaison will leverage knowledge of collections, research, evolving digital skills, and relationships to connect students and faculty with services, content, and tools that meet their research, teaching, and learning needs.

Required Qualifications:
- Fluency (reading) in Chinese, Japanese, or Korean
- Fluency with concepts of digital scholarship and their application
- MLS/MLIS; relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate
- Demonstrated understanding of the role of liaison librarians
- Demonstrated public service skills and strong commitment to customer service
- Ability to communicate effectively in person and in multiple media
- Strong ability to work collaboratively with culturally diverse researchers, colleagues, and stakeholders
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility
- Experience working in dynamic and collaborative teams
Salary: $50,000+ depending on qualifications
