The Boston Public Library is seeking a Research Collection Manager to provide leadership and oversight to the Boston Public Library’s extensive research collection, which consists of an estimated 16 million items, including, books, serials, government documents, microfilm, archives, and other formats. The BPL is a member of the Association of Research Libraries (ARL), one of only two public libraries to hold this distinction.

The Research Collection manager will create and implement strategies related to research collection development, stewardship, storage, and public access, and work with other institutions to explore collaborative collection relationships. Research collection materials are held at the BPL’s Central Library in Copley Square and at the library’s off-site storage facility at the City of Boston Archival Center.

This position will split time between the Central Library in Copley Square and the City of Boston Archival Center in West Roxbury.
