Knowledge Specialist (2 openings), The Bridgespan Group, Multiple Locations (MA, NY, CA)

Description:

Over the past few years, Bridgespan has invested in formalized areas of focus, internally known as “Practices” and “Areas of Expertise”.  The role of the Learning & Innovation (L&I) team is to drive Bridgespan’s growth by investing in developing knowledge within these areas of focus, and ensuring the resulting insights and expertise are shared robustly.  The Knowledge Specialist will support the L&I team by ensuring knowledge from Bridgespan’s work is captured and shared, and that case teams have access to the expertise, tools, and resources they need to excel in their work.

Responsibilities

  • Codify knowledge and maintain assets and tools for teams working with a range of nonprofit and philanthropy clients 
    • Review materials from casework and work with internal experts to curate and elevate insights through appropriate channels (e.g. intranet, internal experts)
    • Capture and share key insights for sharing via our knowledge management platform 
    • Monitor external resources for relevant data and applicability to Bridgespan’s work
    • Equip advisory staff with relevant knowledge, insight, expertise, and resources to do their work
    • Support client development and proposal writing 
    • Connect teams to most relevant content  to inform their client work
    • Connect case teams to relevant internal and external experts as needed
  • Advance strategy for Bridgespan’s Learning and Innovation team (L&I)
    • Facilitate key meetings and learning forums as a thought partner and to encourage knowledge sharing ; prepare relevant materials and assist with information capture
    • Help to identify and synthesize themes and needs across work
    • Work with Practice leads and L&I team to identify content priorities; identify gaps in the knowledge base, as needed, help to update and develop new knowledge assets and/or fill content gaps

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is required, a degree in Library Science preferred
  • ​​​​​​​2+ years of management or strategy consulting experience, preferably in nonprofit or philanthropic sector OR 2+ years of experience required in nonprofit or philanthropic sector
  • Interest in gaining deep experience within the nonprofit sector
  • Strong analytical skills and problem solving capabilities while bringing innovative and ‘outside the box’ approaches to your work
  • Attentive to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, juggle multiple tasks simultaneously while navigating complexity and ambiguity
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Superior customer service attitude and outstanding ability to collaborate and engage with a range of senior stakeholders in a global collaborative team environment of the following disciplines: research and analysis, knowledge management, strategic planning, product development, instructional design 
  • Alignment with Bridgespan’s values and beliefs; experience and proficiency engaging on issues of racial equity and systemic racism
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint
