Scholarly Communication & Copyright Librarian (Full-Time), Kelvin Smith Library, Case Western Reserve University, OH

The Kelvin Smith Library seeks a Scholarly Communication and Copyright Librarian (SCCL). Working as a team member while demonstrating significant individual initiative, SCCL is the primary contributor to and strategist in the library’s efforts to transform scholarly communication in ways that benefit CWRU and the broader environment for teaching, research, and scholarship. The SCCL is responsible for managing a balanced portfolio of three key activities: (1) open access policy and strategy development; (2) open access, publishing, and copyright consultation and advising; and (3) education and advocacy to advance the university’s and the library’s missions as they relate to scholarly communication, open access, and copyright. Reports to the Freedman Center for Digital Scholarship Team Leader.

QUALIFICATIONS Master’s degree in a relevant discipline; BA/BS in a relevant discipline.

ENVIRONMENT The Kelvin Smith Library is a dynamic, technology-rich, highly collaborative organization and the recipient of the 2019 ACRL Excellence in Academic Libraries Award. KSL is a member of the Association of Research Libraries (ARL), OhioLINK, and CNI. Supported by an endowment, the services. Freedman Center for Digital Scholarship advances research by partnering with scholars and providing expertise on suite of digital scholarship services. Founded in 1826, the University is an internationally recognized private research university serving 5,383 undergraduates and 6,491 graduate students with a full-time faculty of 3,695. Situated in Cleveland’s vibrant University Circle cultural community, CWRU is an integral partner with world-class cultural organizations such as the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Western Reserve Historical Society, the Cleveland Botanical Garden, and the Cleveland Museum of Natural History.  KSL affiliate libraries include the Cleveland Institute of Art, the Cleveland Institute of Music, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Library and Archives.

SALARY Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
