Digital Asset Manager, Boston, MA or Arlington, VA

JSI (https://www.jsi.com/ ) and World Education are co-located and affiliated organizations dedicated to public health and education, respectively, with operations in the United States and many countries around the world.


JSI/WEI are embarking on an effort to upgrade how we manage our digital work products and use virtual research tools to support our work. Our work products include data and databases, publications, videos, and other formats. Our research needs include project-specific research activities such as systematic reviews, as well as staying abreast of technical, programmatic, and policy developments in the fields of US/global health and education.


The Digital Asset Manager (DAM) is responsible for the organization, accessibility and preservation of a JSI/WEI’s digital assets, which includes new business development materials (proposals, budgets, etc.), project deliverables and other corporate documents. The DAM reports to the Director of Web Services and will be based in either the Boston or DC (Arlington, VA) office.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Partner with JSI/WEI leadership and other stakeholders to define and manage JSI/WEI digital assets in a way that enables appropriate retention and search capabilities

  • Evaluate existing tools used for digital asset management and determine best path forward to reduce duplication and improve efficiency in capture process

  • Develop an accurate, descriptive and consistent nomenclature for assets in development

  • Develop and maintain a metadata entry protocol. Work with various stakeholders across the enterprise to define metadata and taxonomy guidelines. Actively promote and train on data consistency to support common standards and analytics.

  • Establish periodic data verification review processes to ensure data accuracy and to support easy and consistent search and delivery of assets

  • Keep informed of latest Digital Asset Management technology trends and innovations, ensuring the JSI/WEI staff are supported with state-of-the-art resources.

  • Establish and maintain compliance with record retention policies and procedures
  • Manage JSI/WEI library/research services that includes: Oversee staff providing library/research services and support training, reference management tools, etc. related to library services

  • Other duties as identified and assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS or MLS) degree strongly preferred

  • 3+ years of experience managing an enterprise content management or digital asset management system for a large client or company
  • Experience using online research tools, including PubMed and other science and social science databases

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills
  • Extreme attention to detail

  • Meticulous data-driven nature

  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and implement

  • Proven ability to work as part of a team and to be self-managing
