Technical Services Coordinator for Cataloging and Metadata, Siena College, Loudonville, NY

Description:

The J. Spencer and Patricia Standish Library seeks applicants for a full-time, 12-month, library faculty position at the rank of Assistant Librarian, Continuing Appointment track.  The Cataloging and Metadata Librarian is primarily responsible for Acquisition, Cataloging and coordinating monographic Collection Development and serves as the systems manager for ExLibris’ Alma Acquisitions and Fulfillment functions.  This position also oversees metadata components for digitization projects and contributes to information literacy instruction and research/reference services.

Qualifications:

Required: ALA-accredited Master’s degree in library or information studies.  Working knowledge of MARC cataloging rules and conventions and non-MARC metadata schemas, formats standards and protocols. Sound knowledge of integrated library systems. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, evidence of strong service orientation.  A background screening will be required.

Preferred: Experience with ExLibris Alma/PrimoVE.  Experience working with reference assistance and/or library instruction. Three years of experience working in an academic library. Degree or course work in a field related to diversity or social justice.
