Associate Director for Access & Technical Services, Wentworth Institute of Technology, Boston, MA

The Douglas D. Schumann Library & Learning Commons at the Wentworth Institute of Technology is seeking applicants to join our community as an Associate Director for Access & Technical Services. 

This is a wonderful opportunity to lead a dynamic Department in a recently-renovated, technologically-enabled library. 

Reporting to the Director of the Library, The Associate Director is responsible for: 

  • Developing technologically-integrated programs and services to support collaborative learning and the expanding academic programs at the Institute. 
  • Providing direct supervision and support for the Access Services and Technical Services units, whose work includes circulation desk management, all library lending programs, oversight for acquisitions, the e-resources lifecycle, collection organization, cataloging, interlibrary loan, and course reserves.
  • Developing and updating relevant policies, training materials, and procedural documentation related to access, e-resources, and collection organization, and helps to assess the impact and effectiveness of library services within the institutional context.

The position provides oversight for staff and student work at the circulation desk, including library opening and closing operations, as well as other access and technical services. Other duties may be required, at the discretion of the Director of the Library and/or the Provost/Vice President of Academic Affairs.
