DREAM (Digital Research Education and Media Lab) Digital Pedagogy Specialist, University of Oregon [Virtual]

Description:

Reporting to the Digital Scholarship Librarian in Digital Scholarship Services, this internship supports the development of Learn @ the DREAM Lab’s open digital pedagogy materials. These include written and video tutorials and planning workshops from learning objectives to teaching in a classroom. These workshops are taught remotely and synchronously and asynchronously to reach the broadest possible audience.

Learn @ the DREAM Lab materials are developed under Creative Commons licenses and made openly available for use and reuse by educators and librarians in their learning management systems. The goal of building these materials is to scale up digital instruction by incorporating the do-it-yourself spirit of the DREAM Lab physical space into the virtual realm.

The intern will create bite-sized guides to make common tasks for digital assignments more accomplishable in virtual and hybrid environments. In addition, the intern and the supervisor will determine the topics of these materials to address gaps in current knowledge and coverage within Digital Scholarship Services and their interests. These could include text mining, topic modeling, digital exhibit development, personal digital archiving, or digital storytelling.
