Acquisitions Specialist, Western New England University School of Law Library, Springfield, MA

Western New England University School of Law Library is seeking a service-oriented individual to serve as our Acquisitions Specialist (AS). This person is responsible for the accurate and timely purchase and receipt of Library materials and equipment, and the maintenance and monitoring of Library budget information. The AS serves as the primary contact for various vendor representatives, and assists with negotiating contracts.  Additionally, the AS provides a variety of administrative support duties. 

The AS works normal business hours, with occasional changes in work schedule as needed.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required, particularly regarding accounting matters, along with strong communication and interpersonal skills. Must be flexible and able to prioritize.  Knowledge of accounting/ bookkeeping procedures is preferred. Experience with automated Library systems is preferred. Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred. Some college required.
