The Sawyer Free Library is accepting applications for a creative and energetic full-time Children’s Librarian. This position is perfect for someone who believes library services are essential to a strong community and is passionate about developing innovative services for the 21st century.
Primary duties of the Children’s Librarian include, but are not limited to:
- Planning and delivering large scale reading enrichment programs
- Partnering with youth community service providers
- Delivering information and reader’s advisory services
- Instructing children in the use of technology and online resources
- Overseeing the management of a section of the collection
- Creating content for websites and social media
Ability and enthusiasm for adapting to new technologies and services a must. Knowledge and familiarity of both literacy and children’s literature are required. Outstanding candidates will possess exceptional customer service skills.
- Full time, permanent position, 35 hours per week.
- Pay Range: $29.19 – $42.30 (per hour)
Qualifications: Candidates are expected to have a Masters in Library and Information Science from an American Library Association accredited library school and relevant library experience.
