Part-time Digitization Assistant, Northeastern University Library, Boston, MA

Description:

Northeastern University Library’s Digital Production unit is looking for a part-time digitization assistant.
The assistant will reformat library and archival materials and create metadata. This is a great
opportunity to help shape and document workflows in a growing digitization program.

Responsibilities include:
• Digitizing archival documents using an Epson Expression 12000XL flatbed scanner and Bookeye 4
planetary scanner
• Creating MODS metadata for digitized items
• Reformatting A/V materials and creating access copies using FFmpeg
• Other duties as necessary


Required qualifications:
• Attention to detail
• Ability to quickly learn new technology
• Collaborative working style and excellent communication skills
• Ability to work independently
• Flexibility in dealing with change


Preferred qualifications:
• Experience in the digitization of flat items or A/V materials
• Experience working with archival or special collections materials
