Call for Editors – New England Archivists Newsletter Committee

Description:

Are you a detail-oriented person who’s looking for a way to get more involved with New England Archivists? Are you a grammar and punctuation nerd? Do you enjoy staying on top of the latest news and innovation in the field?

The NEA Newsletter Committee seeks applications for the positions of News and Notes Editor and Reviews Editor. Editors serve three-year terms and jointly arrange for the quarterly publication and distribution of the NEA Newsletter. The four editors take turns serving as main editor and assistant editor on issues, and all editors work to solicit feature articles and columns. Committee members become senior editors about halfway through their terms and serve as non-voting members of the NEA Board, which includes reporting to the board, preparing the Newsletter budget, and attending board meetings. In addition to other editorial duties:

The News and Notes Editor solicits news, updates, and relevant photographs from NEA members, NEA Roundtables, and New England–area repositories (term starting October 2021).
The Reviews Editor solicits reviews of tools, software, and training/education opportunities (term starting January 2022).

How to apply:

These appointed positions are open to NEA members. If you are not currently a member of NEA, it’s easy to join.
Applicants must submit a résumé and a short writing sample (less than five pages). If you have any questions about the positions, email <[email protected]>.

Send applications by Saturday, May 15 to <[email protected]>.
