Assistant Director, North Conway Public Library, North Conway, NH

The North Conway Public Library in NH is looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic, friendly multi-tasker to become Assistant Director.

This is a part-time position (25-30 hours/week)with the possibility of expanding to full-time in the future. This person will perform and be in charge of a wide range of tasks and library services.

We want someone who thrives on new challenges and is able to shift gears at any moment; who has attention to detail, is organized, super smart, a great writer, and up-to-speed on current library trends. A sense of humor is a must and baking skills are always appreciated.

Excellent customer service attitude towards patrons of all ages and backgrounds is essential.

Duties & Responsibilities:

·         Assumes responsibility for the operation of the library in the absence of the Library Director

·         Manages all programming for adults & children: virtual and in-person

·         Manages all library technology

·         Assists with outreach: website, e-newsletter, social media, press releases, brochures

·         Oversees and helps out at the circulation desk

·         Assists with policy development and grant writing

·         Manages the volunteer program

·         Assists the public with genealogy research

·         Other tasks & responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications & Skills:

·         MLS/MLIS preferred

·         Excellent oral & written communication skills

·         Comfort with presenting to groups & teaching classes

·         High comfort level with technology

·         Organizational skills

·         Ability to provide exceptional service to patrons

·         Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people

·         Ability to plan, organize, and conduct programs for all age groups

·         Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships

Hourly Wage: Starting pay $18.00 / hour; paid vacation and holidays
