Position Summary:

Audax deal team members are supported by professionals in several key functional areas including legal, financing, sourcing, portfolio support, IT and business development. Our model allows deal teams to focus their energy and resources on what matters most – building companies and building equity value for our investors.

The Knowledge Management Intern will play a key role in the portfolio support team, which focuses on value creation, operational improvements, board and management effectiveness, and resource management. With time, this individual will work with the portfolio support team and deal teams to add value in all stages of the deal lifecycle, from acquiring companies to improving our platforms to exiting the investments.

The Knowledge Management Intern role involves assisting with the rollout of our new KM database “Lighthouse” via user training and raising user awareness, continuing to expand the underlying dataset by meta-tagging documents, and developing new ways to automatically generate high-value reports and deliver to deal teams early in the deal lifecycle. It also involves identifying and delivering relevant internal and third-party research materials to deal teams in order to help them evaluate the market and the opportunity. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated team player with strong technical skills able to materialize concepts into effective, concise and actionable insights.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand the investment thesis and key questions to support the equity value creation plan. Understand the ability to use KM data to address those questions. The intern will work across 8-10 prospective deals a month delivering KM and Research insights Audax Management Co. is an equal opportunity employer.
  • Maintain and improve the underlying data in the Lighthouse KM database, mainly by adding meta-tags to high value documents
  • Help with delivery of biweekly email newsletter sharing equity research and news reports to the PE deal teams
  • Help build a wiki of Research resources and a Knowledgebase of deal team questions as they are answered
  • Other related knowledge management tasks as required to support Portfolio Support team activities.

Qualifications:

  • BS or BA with a high GPA
  • Two years of professional experience preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Competencies:

  • Advanced experience with tools such as Excel (required) and Powerpoint (required)
  • Preferred experience with SharePoint Online
