Senior Information Analyst, Fidelity Investments, Boston, MA

Are you looking for a research librarian role in a financial services setting? The Senior Information Analyst is responsible for providing research support to investment professionals.

The Team:

As part of the information consulting team, this role partners with the Lead Information Consultant to support research teams within Fidelity’s Global Asset Allocation (GAA) and Strategic Advisers (SAI) units. Our work helps investment professionals access the data and information they need to make recommendations to internal and external clients. We value new perspectives and excellent communication.

The Expertise You Have:

  • Education: Master of Library Science/Library and Information Studies (MLS/MLIS) or current progress toward this degree
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with large datasets; experience with a statistical package is helpful but not required
  • Experience in financial or business research or library reference work is preferred

The Skills You Bring:

  • Strong research and analytical toolkit, including ability to identify and understand qualitative and quantitative data
  • You can clean and organize data to meet investment professionals’ needs
  • You are a self-starter with solid time management and communication skills

  • Providing comprehensive, timely, and accurate research solutions in response to broad-based research questions and presenting results in a clear and meaningful format for investment professionals
  • Researching, assessing, and synthesizing information from diverse and sometimes conflicting sources
  • Associating resources and topics with investment professionals’ subject interests, anticipating their needs, and proactively communicating your findings
  • Iterating with teammates and investment professionals to refine research projects and tailor deliverables to specific needs
  • Developing and maintaining an extensive knowledge of assigned asset classes or sectors to support the research process
