Part-time Digitization Assistant, Northeastern University Library, Boston, MA

Description:

Northeastern University Library’s Digital Production unit is looking for a part-time digitization assistant. The assistant will reformat library and archival materials. This is a great opportunity to help shape and document workflows in a growing digitization program.

Responsibilities:

  • Digitize documents using an Epson Expression 11000XL flatbed scanner and Bookeye 4 scanner.
  • Reformat AV materials and create access copies using FFmpeg.
  • Other duties as necessary, including possible metadata creation.

  • Ability to quickly learn new technology
  • Collaborative working style and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Flexibility in dealing with change

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the digitization of flat items or AV materials

This position is up to 17 hours per week at $15/hour. It is an unbenefited, term position through the end of June with the possibility of extension.
