Project Intern, Mary and John Gray Library at Lamar University, Remote

Description:

Lamar University are creating a searchable database of information on Midstream Oil Production and are looking for a graduate student currently enrolled in an ALA-accredited library or information science program to work on this project.  The position will be for one long semester (16 weeks) at 15 hours per week, $20 per hour for a semester total of up to a maximum of $4,800.00. 

Under supervision of Michael Saar, Interim Associate Dean of the Mary & John Gray Library, the student will search academic databases as well as non-library resources such as Google Scholar to locate research in the field of Midstream Oil Production, which encompasses activities such as storage, processing and transportation of petroleum products and may include entities that operate pipelines, tanker ships or other storage facilities.   

The ideal candidate will be a current graduate student who has had instruction in the theory and practice of effective online searching, the organization of information resources and possibly metadata and/or cataloging. The position will begin in January 2021 and the researcher will be able to work 100% remotely in this position.
