Duties:
- Communicate with donors and government offices to facilitate the acquisition of photograph collections.
- Process photograph collections, including digital images, creating documentation, organizing and re-housing to preserve, conserve, and create access to collections.
- Inventory and describe collections in the collections management system.
- Digitize photographs to provide access and facilitate use.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of tools for collection access.
- Evaluate conservation status of collections and develop a plan for corrective action.
- Provide technical expertise and collections care recommendations to organizations and the public.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create and review policies and procedures related to best practices and industry standards for the management, preservation, and access of archival collections.
- Assist reference staff with requests related to photographic materials.
- Collaborate with colleagues to process large collections with mixed materials.
- Supervise volunteer projects related to photo collections.
