  • Communicate with donors and government offices to facilitate the acquisition of photograph collections.
  • Process photograph collections, including digital images, creating documentation, organizing and re-housing to preserve, conserve, and create access to collections.
  • Inventory and describe collections in the collections management system.
  • Digitize photographs to provide access and facilitate use.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of tools for collection access.
  • Evaluate conservation status of collections and develop a plan for corrective action.
  • Provide technical expertise and collections care recommendations to organizations and the public.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create and review policies and procedures related to best practices and industry standards for the management, preservation, and access of archival collections.
  • Assist reference staff with requests related to photographic materials.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to process large collections with mixed materials.
  • Supervise volunteer projects related to photo collections.
