Audiovisual Digitization Quality Control Technician, AVP, Merrimack, NH

This position will be part time for approximately 1 year beginning in August 2020. The Quality Control Technician will be required to work both remotely and from the archive’s Merrimack, NH location. On-site work will only be required for a few hours a month and the office is currently minimally staffed and follows all CDC guidelines regarding social distancing and cleaning protocols.

The Quality Control Technician will work both remotely and on-site performing quality control checks on audiovisual files returned from the digitization vendor. Training will be provided. Applicants need not be experts in audiovisual assets, but must be computer savvy and willing to learn new skills. A computer and a strong, reliable internet connection will be required while the Quality Control Technician works remotely. On-site hours may be flexible between M-F, 8am-3pm; remote hours may be any time.

At the end of the project, the Quality Control Technician will be responsible for helping reshelve audiovisual assets. This position pays $20 per hour. Average of 16-20 hours per month for this position.

Successful canidates must:

  • Be able to understand and follow detailed process instructions 
  • Be highly organized, efficient, self-motivated, and able to complete assignments without constant supervision
  • Be punctual, communicative, reliable, and able to commit to part-time work for the length of the project
  • Be comfortable handling fragile materials
  • Be able to lift boxes weighing up to 40lbs
  • Be willing to undergo a background check
  • Be proficient in the English language
  • Have access to a computer and a strong, reliable internet connection for remote activities

An interest in and experience with legacy audiovisual recordings and media archiving are a benefit.
