The University of Washington Libraries invites applications and nominations for the position of Director of the UW Tacoma Library and Associate Dean of University Libraries. This is an exceptional opportunity to shape major programs, strategic directions, and service initiatives at one of the nation’s premier academic libraries.

Under the general direction of the Vice Provost for Digital Initiatives and Dean of University Libraries, the Director and Associate Dean is responsible for strategic visioning, policy and program development, operations and personnel, and overall innovation and excellence in the UW Tacoma Library. The Director and Associate Dean provides leadership for transformational and user-centered services; integrated educational and curricular programs; staff development at all levels; an inclusive environment that also prioritizes equity and diversity; responsive collections and information resources; assessment; and marketing of services. The Director and Associate Dean works closely with the Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, UW Tacoma and other UW Tacoma administrative teams to accomplish these responsibilities, and to foster and maintain effective cross-campus communication and coordination. The Director and Associate Dean builds strong collaborative leadership relationships across UW Tacoma and the University of Washington Libraries tri-campus environment.

This is a full-time position. Salary is $90,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
