Associate Director, Seekonk Public Library, Seekonk, MA

Description:

The Associate Director is responsible for the general administrative oversight of the library’s public service departments, including collection development, programming, and personnel issues. Duties include scheduling, training, and evaluating the performance of public service personnel. The Associate Director works to introduce new technologies to the staff and public, to provide technical support to staff and public, and to innovate the library’s digital brand.  The Associate Director serves as the library’s chief administrator in the absence of the Library Director. The Associate Director is engaged by the Board of Library Trustees under the terms of personnel service contract, but in all other respects is considered an employee of the Town of Seekonk. The Associate Director is directed by, and reports to, the Library Director. He or she may report indirectly to the Board of Library Trustees as required.

This is a salaried full time position. The Associate Director will typically work 35-40 hours per week and may be expected to work occasional weekend hours.  Attendance at nightly or weekend meetings beyond the normal work schedule may also be required. Anticipated salary is low $70,000’s.
