Two GSLIS students at Simmons College(enrolled no more than one semester to date) are needed in the Office of Admission in the School of Nursing & Health Sciences (Park Sci. Bldg.) for the 2013-14 academic year (fall ’13 and spring ’14 semesters). Newly accepted students beginning graduate studies in fall ’13 are welcomed to apply. There is also a possibility for the selected students to work in fall ’14 and spring’15. Students must be able to work for two consecutive semesters due to extensive training.
Students will report directly to the Assistant Dean/Director of Admission but will work with administrative staff.
Primary duties: updating/monitoring SNHS Facebook account and blogs; updating SNHS web site; creating databases, internet research and data entry. Other duties include filing and mailing projects.
Requirements: Students must be enrolled half-time (5 credit hours per semester) and be able/willing to work both semesters. Skilled in technology (beyond Microsoft Office Suite); attention to detail and adherence to confidentially; a willingness to quickly learn about the health care profession and ability to work with faculty and staff are essential. Working as part of a team and independently are key attributes as well.
A minimum of twelve hours per week ($15.00/hr.) during regular College office hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) is required though some occasional evening work might be available.
