Harvard Art Museums/Busch-Reisinger Museum Archives Internship

 

The Busch-Reisinger Museum, one of the three Harvard Art Museums, is devoted to the study of art from the German-speaking countries of central and northern Europe in all media and in all periods. The museum is seeking an intern with experience in archival processing, management, and preservation. Work will include creating inventories, arrangement, and description of materials related to the history of the museum (founded in 1903) and to the artist Lyonel Feininger (1871-1956). This is a paid internship for the fall semester 2013. Candidates should be able to commit to working 2 days per week.

 

Basic Qualifications:

Candidates must have completed or be currently enrolled in an ALA-accredited graduate program in Library & Information Science specializing in archival studies. A minimum of one year of experience with processing and describing archival collections is required. Candidates must be able to lift 40 lbs.

 

Additional Qualifications:

A background in art history and German reading knowledge are desirable but not required.
